Latin America EXECUTIVE Leadership Team

Andrea Scerch is president of Mastercard’s Latin America and the Caribbean region. In this role, Andrea is responsible for the strategy, direction, and overall success of all aspects of Mastercard’s operations across the region, which is comprised of 45 countries and territories, through its partnerships with retailers, fintechs, financial institutions, government, and businesses. 

Andrea has held diverse roles during his tenure at Mastercard. In his previous position Andrea led Mastercard’s global Consumer Products and Processing team where he was responsible for the company’s “core” consumer product offer (credit, debit and prepaid products). In this capacity, he also spearheaded the integration of multiple businesses, including Transaction Network Services, which was acquired in 2014. 

Andrea first joined Mastercard in 2005 as the head of strategy for Europe before assuming the role of division president for Central Europe markets. Under his leadership, the company strengthened its position across the region, achieved strong growth and successfully deployed new payment technology in the markets. 

Before joining Mastercard, Andrea was an associate principal at McKinsey & Company in Italy, where he worked with large, pan-European retail banks leading strategic projects on key business topics.  

Andrea holds an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France and has a degree in Economics and Business Administration, from La Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. 

Silvana Hernandez is the Executive Vice President, Core Payments in Latin America and the Caribbean for Mastercard. In this role, Silvana leads strategy and execution in the region for the brand’s digital, acceptance and core products including credit, debit and prepaid working closely with ecosystem partners. 

Silvana joined Mastercard in 2010 and has held various global and regional positions in consulting, product strategy, product management and partner engagement. Prior to Mastercard, she spent close to 10 years in management consulting roles, where she specialized in financial services and telecommunication verticals. 

Silvana holds a Bachelor of Arts from TEC de Monterrey in Mexico City, and a Master of Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University. 

Walter Pimenta is executive vice president, Commercial and New Payment Flows for Latin America and the Caribbean, reporting to the regional president. In this role, he is responsible for executing on opportunities in multi-rail, digital and B2B payments – consumer products, commercial products, acceptance solutions, real-time, account-to-account and push payments, processing, open banking, blockchain and digital assets applications.

Working for one of the fastest growing regions undergoing digital transformation, Walter possesses extensive knowledge of payment schemes, key industry players, and emerging technologies to support the company’s customer-centric focus in product design and delivery. He first joined Mastercard in 2011, as Product Lead for Emerging Payments in Brazil and has since held several positions as part of the regional and global Products & Engineering team. With more than two decades of experience, he’s helped lead a team that enables the best digital experience, with security, convenience and control everywhere and every way consumers choose to pay.

Prior to joining Mastercard, Walter held management positions at multinational companies in the financial and technology industries, including Gemalto and Citibank.

He holds both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Federal de Lavras University, located in Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Ana Lucia Magliano is Executive Vice President, Services, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), reporting to the regional president. In this role, she leads a team responsible for implementing a unique range of data-driven capabilities and cyber security solutions that help customers make smarter decisions as well as provide safe, secure and frictionless interactions. 

 

Ana Lucia joined Mastercard in 2011, as Vice President, as a member of the Data & Services in Brazil. Prior to assuming her current position, she was Senior Vice President, Global Head of Product Development for Retail Banking and Senior Vice President of Advisors Business Development. 

 

Before joining Mastercard, Ana Lucia worked at Booz & Company, leading complex consulting projects including a wide array of themes such as: strategy formulation and planning, organization and corporate governance, design and definition of business models, and process redesign and optimization for a diverse set of private and public sector clients.   

 

Ana Lucia holds an MBA from Columbia University in New York and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade de São Paulo. 

Carlos Quintero joined Mastercard’s Latin American and Caribbean division to lead the marketing and communications efforts that drive the company’s business strategy and growth forward. With his team based across the region, he leverages Mastercard’s iconic, multi-dimensional marketing platform, Priceless, to create differentiation and engagement with consumers and B2B audiences. 

At Procter & Gamble, he led for 18+ years the consumer goods brand sector with P&Ls of more than $1B, driving profitable growth through a cross-functional team of over 40 leaders in North America and globally. His primary focus was the Oral Care business in North America, managing marketing, communications, innovation, e-commerce, and media. Throughout his tenure at the company, he also led business teams for Gillette, Pampers, and other brands. 

Carlos is a bold and curious leader focused on consistently exceeding targets and delivering breakthrough results. He is also passionate about talent development and approachable leadership, as he believes in a culture that provides access and trust with his team.

Holding a Materials Engineering degree from Simon Bolivar University in Venezuela and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Canada, Carlos is a results-oriented business leader focused on elevating and advancing his marketing team and delivering breakthrough Latin American campaigns in service of Mastercard’s customers and consumers.

Paula Paschoal is Executive Vice President of Market Development for the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region. As part of her role, she partners with different markets to capture strategically relevant opportunities, including broadening our acceptance footprint, establishing partnerships with critical players including, merchants, fintech's, APMs, digital giants, governments. 

Paula joined Mastercard from Google, where she first joined the Google Pay Latam team with the challenge of establishing Google Pay in Brazil, including building a local team, product value proposition and strategy. During her time at Google, Paula relocated to California to lead all commercialization and partnership efforts for Google Payments, including Google Wallet, Google Pay and Google's various online checkout flows as head of global payments partnerships. Prior to Google, Paula spent more than 10 years at PayPal Brazil where she held different leadership and commercial positions including as Country Manager for Brazil.

Paula holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Fundação Alvares Penteado and an MBA from Fundação Getulio Vargas in Brazil. She is also part of the YPO Harvard’s Presidents Program.  

Kiki Del Valle is the president of Mastercard’s North LAC Division, overseeing the operations of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. In this role, she is responsible for advancing the company's strategic vision, bringing a unique blend of market transformation efforts, digital innovation, strategic growth initiatives, product development, and business partnerships driving payments across key markets.

Since she started at Mastercard in 2008, Kiki has played a pivotal role in expanding digital financial services, accelerating financial inclusion, strengthening cybersecurity frameworks, and driving innovation through scalable partnerships. She has been an advocate for consumer-centric business strategies aiding the company’s evolution to diversify with non-financial institution partners including merchants and technology providers. Amongst her accomplishments, she successfully led the fintech practice in Latin America bringing over 100 million new people into the financial system. An expert in digital payments and digital wallets, she championed the partnership and go-to-market efforts launching Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay globally changing the way that millions of consumers pay around the world.

Prior to joining Mastercard, Kiki held management positions at multinational companies expanding her financial expertise, including The Home Depot and General Electric Company. In 2024, she was recognized by American Banker as one of the ‘Most Influential Women in Fintech’, was named one of the ‘Most Powerful Latinas in the US’ by ALPFA, and ‘Most Inspiring Women in Technology’ by World Future Awards. In 2025, she was recognized by Latino Leaders Magazine among the “100 Latinas”, recognizing trailblazing women making waves through leadership, innovation, and impact in their respective fields.

Kiki received her undergraduate degree in Finance and International Business from Emory University and holds a MBA in Finance and Strategy from the same institution.

Marcelo Tangioni is the president of Mastercard’s Brazil Division, reporting to the regional president. In this role, he is responsible for advancing the company's strategic vision, fostering innovation, driving growth, promoting sustainability, and cultivating a purpose-driven culture in one of Mastercard's key global markets.

Marcelo first joined Mastercard in 2002 and has since amassed over two decades of invaluable experience within the company. His extensive tenure has provided him with a deep understanding of the business, having worked across various markets and departments. Prior to assuming his position in Brazil, he led the Caribbean region for five years. During this time, Marcelo successfully cultivated a collaborative work culture across the entire regional team, leading Mastercard's strategy and operations across 27 islands—a notably diverse market within Latin America. Earlier in his professional journey at Mastercard, Marcelo held positions of responsibility in the southern cone region where he oversaw Products, Loyalty, Digital Payments and C&I. Additionally, he held leadership positions at the company's global headquarters in Purchase, NY, and later oversaw Products for Latin America in Miami.

Prior to joining Mastercard, Marcelo worked at BankBoston, which laid the foundation for his subsequent achievements in the financial and payments industry.

He graduated with a Marketing degree from ESPM and pursued a Marketing Degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, he holds an MBA in Finance from USP.
