Tucker Foote is chief government affairs and policy officer and a member of Mastercard’s Management Committee. He leads the company’s global engagement with governments, trade associations, think tanks and industry stakeholders, shaping the policy landscape to protect and promote Mastercard’s business priorities and ensure a secure, competitive payments ecosystem worldwide.
Since joining Mastercard in 2005, Tucker has held a series of leadership roles, including head of Public Policy for the Americas and executive vice president for Global Government Affairs. Under his leadership, Mastercard has navigated complex legislative risks, opened new markets and successfully advanced policies that foster innovation and financial inclusion. He has been recognized as a Top Lobbyist by The Hill every year since 2011 and has been named to Washington Life’s Power 100 list.
Prior to Mastercard, Tucker served as senior professional staff on the U.S. House Financial Services Committee, where he was instrumental in shaping financial regulatory policy, expanding consumer access to credit and addressing global threats related to money laundering and terrorist financing.
He serves on several advisory boards, including the Cohen Institute for Leadership and Public Service at the University of Maine and the Information Technology Industry Council.
Tucker holds a degree in economics from Yale University.
