With the uptick in e-commerce at the end of the year, it’s the most wonderful time of the year for scammers, who take advantage of open wallets — U.S. retail sales on Black Friday this year were up 2.5% over last year, according to Mastercard SpendingPulse — and giving hearts to enrich themselves.
